Cool Kids Summer at Disney World 2026: What's Worth It

Cool Kids Summer at Disney World 2026: What's Worth It

Summer at Disney World is a full experience — and 2026’s Cool Kids Summer programming adds enough new content to make it genuinely worth the trip, even if you’ve been before. But not all of it is created equal. Here’s our honest breakdown.

What’s New for Summer 2026

Magic Kingdom

The Tomorrowland Summer Bash is back with new light installations and an updated DJ set running nightly. The crowd energy here is real — kids go absolutely wild, and the effects are genuinely impressive against the castle backdrop.

The Enchanted Tiki Room also received a seasonal overlay with a tropical summer soundtrack. Light programming change, but fun for younger kids.

EPCOT

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival starts earlier this year — late June rather than August — meaning summer visitors now get access to both the Cool Kids events and the full Food & Wine experience simultaneously.

The new EPCOT Energy Exchange exhibit in Innoventions-adjacent space is geared toward 8-12 year olds and surprisingly engaging. It’s a free walk-through, low lines, and genuinely educational.

Hollywood Studios

No major new summer overlay here, but the Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple runs multiple times daily in summer, and it’s still one of the best experiences for kids aged 4-12. Book it as soon as you arrive — spots fill up within the first hour.

What’s NOT Worth the Hype

  • Cool Kids Summer Photo Opportunities: The themed photo spots have long waits (30-45 min) for a single pic. The free Disney PhotoPass snaps at classic spots are faster and better.
  • The Seasonal Merchandise: Cute, but aggressively priced. The same Magic Kingdom logo on summer-colored items at a premium. Skip unless your kids have their heart set on it.

The Bottom Line

If you’re going with kids aged 5-14, EPCOT + Magic Kingdom in a single trip is the strongest combo this summer. Hollywood Studios earns its ticket price regardless of the seasonal theming. Animal Kingdom is excellent year-round but doesn’t add much specifically for Cool Kids Summer.

Visiting tip: Start your day at EPCOT (opens early and is walkable), and shuttle to Magic Kingdom for the afternoon and evening shows. Our private transfers make this route seamless.
